Accu-Trak Walk Test Mode
Accu-Trak walk test mode is a unique and convenient method for an installer to determine
precise pattern coverage for both PIR and microwave technologies. When the appropriate DIP
switch is set, the red (left) LED represents the PIR technology; the green (right) LED
represents the microwave technology.
PIR Coverage: The red PIR LED
functions much like a zone locator. Each time you enter, or leave, a protected zone, the
LED flashes momentarily. Typical LED illumination times of 2-4 seconds are bypassed in
order to give immediate, crisp feedback of pattern coverage. There is no longer the need
to wonder exactly where the coverage started while waiting for the LED to extinguish.
Microwave Coverage: The green
microwave LED flashes at a rate proportional to the speed of the target. Walk slowly
through the coverage pattern and the LED flashes slowly. Walk fast and the LED blinks
rapidly. Walk outside the coverage pattern and there is no LED activity. If the LED
flashes with no target activity, the flash rate is a valuable aid in determining the type
of disturbance that is not readily seen, such as an attic fan, yet could contribute to a
false alarm.
While in the Accu-Trak mode, the relay is held open to prevent the possibility if
accidentally leaving the unit in walk test mode. After returning to the normal operating
mode, the overall pattern coverage can be checked with the full processing capabilities of
the detector.
