| The new 5140XM is a UL listed commercial fire and commercial
burglary control in one package. It supports applications ranging from small stores or
businesses to factory/office complexes. With powerful zone expansion and 99 user codes,
the 5140XM can support small to medium fire installations. The 5140XM provides 8 style
B zones, and a built-in multiplex polling loop allows expansion to 64 zones. These zones
can be programmed for manual fire alarm, automatic fire alarm with alarm verification,
waterflow alarm and sprinkler system supervisory, along with a complete selection of
burglary and panic zones.
It supports custom English language consoles with either a grey, for burglary, or red,
for fire, exterior (51 37AD and 51 37ADR) Before choosing a console, check with local
authorities. Some municipalities may require that fire system annunciators be red in
color. These consoles have a 2-line alphanumeric display with 16 characters each to report
system status using custom descriptions. It also has a built-in user's manual, where the
pressing of any function key for 5 seconds will prompt instructions to scroll on the
display.
The 5140XM has one built-in supervised dialer module, and supports an optional second
5140DLM supervised dialer module. The control also has 2 style Y supervised bell outputs
for operating fire and burglary alarm sounders. The transformer allows a direct plug-in
connection, eliminating the requirement for an electrician's assistance in making the AC
connection.
Easy Programming:
For your convenience, the panel is pre-programmed with a set of standard values which can
be easily modified to suit any installation. There are also four standard communication
default programs, eliminating extensive programming time and effort.
The 5140XM can be programmed at your office, or at the job site directly from a
console. It can also be programmed remotely with ADEMCO's V-link downloading software, or
with a direct connection to your PC using the 4100SM Serial Interface Module.
