| APEX DESTINY KEYPAD SIMULATION INSTRUCTIONS | ||
| · To begin or reset the presentation: Press Start · To exit, press the Escape key. · Open and close the door and window by clicking on them with your left mouse button. Because the APEX system talks, you will hear the system announce each opening. |
||
| Secret Mode: A 4-digit secret code gives you access to your home or business. In this demo, the secret code for disarming the system is 1234. |
||
| "A"
button: Arms to AWAY mode Single click on "A" with your left mouse button. The system will announce "Armed to Away" and will begin an exit delay countdown, so you know exactly how much time you have to leave the house. The exit delay counts down in ten second increments. For this presentation, the exit delay has been accelerated to keep things moving. At the end of exit delay you will hear "Exit is Over." The system is protecting your doors and windows and any interior motion detectors are active. |

| Triggering an Alarm: At this point, opening the window will trigger an immediate alarm. The system siren will sound with a voice alert describing the type of alarm and the exact location that caused it. The siren and speech will alternate until the system is disarmed. Also notice that the front entry lights come on at alarm. | ||
| Silencing Alarm: The alarm is silenced by entering the user code (1,2,3,4). You will hear "Control is Disarmed". | ||
| Returning Home: Opening the door at the end of the exit delay will trigger an entry delay period. The system will announce pre-alarm "entry detected front door, entry detected front door" as a reminder the system needs to be turned off. Entering a valid user code (1,2,3,4) during pre-alarm will disarm the system before an alarm occurs. If you do not enter a valid user code before the entry delay expires the system will go into full alarm. | ||
| "H"
button: Arms to HOME mode Single click on "H" with your left mouse button. The system will announce "Armed to Home". In the Home mode, perimeter zones (windows and doors) are active and the interior zones are not, allowing the freedom to move within your house without triggering an alarm. The entry delay period remains. |

| Night mode: While the system is armed to Home, you can click on "H" again, the system announces "Armed to Night". In Night mode the perimeter entry delay zones become instant. You typically arm to Night when everyone is home for the evening. | ||
| STATUS button: Press the STATUS button to get a report on the current system status, including open doors/windows, zones that have caused an activation, trouble conditions, etc. |

| MONITOR button: MONITOR is on by default. Open the window and hear the announcement. Open the door and hear the announcement. Press the MONITOR button and the monitor feature will be off. Press MONITOR again and the monitor will emit a tone when a door or window is opened. |

| F1 button: To remotely control lights and appliances, use the F1 button. Click on F1 and you will hear a menu of available lights to control. -Front porch lights, click 0,1 and A for ON and H for OFF. -Bedroom lights click 0,2 and A for ON and H for OFF. You can exit the remote control mode by clicking on F1 again. NOTE: If you are in remote control and do not click on the A or H keys for 6-7 seconds, the system will automatically exit remote control. |
