CEGate powerline interfaceDescription
CEGate represents the industry's first CEBus compliant Security Interface utilizing the powerline medium. CEGate connects quickly and easily to select ADEMCO controls through the same 4 wire run that connects the ADEMCO consoles. Once wired, you simply plug CEGate into a convenient AC outlet and you're ready to utilize the data to provide an integrated home system for end users demanding the best in security along with convenience and control.

ADEMCO Security
Currently, the CEGate powerline interface works with the ADEMCO Vista-50P control. The Vista-50P is the most powerful panel in the ADEMCO line of Vista Plus controls. It boasts expansion to 87 zones of protection, incorporates the best in wireless technology, and offers end users the added convenience of arming and disarming with the simplicity of a wireless key! In addition, the Vista-50P has a complete scheduler which can turn lights and appliances on or off based on specific zones that change stat as well as when the panel arms, disarms, or goes into alarm.

Availability
The ADEMCO CEGate and the Vista-50P control panel and accessories can be ordered through your authorized ADEMCO  Distributor. If you are doing a job and want to plan for the immediate or eventual use of CEGate, ensure that you purchase the Vista-50P Security System!

What Does CEBus mean to me or my customers?
A logical question to ask is what is the value of the CEBus standard? The CEBus standard was developed over years of discussion and cooperation among major industries representing products into the home. Included in the development of the standard were companies in the Security, Lighting, HVAC, Power Meter, Television, and Audio industries. Only through this joint cooperation can you get a level of assurance that what you install today will be supported by other industries in the future. The CEBus Industry Standard includes specifications from many of the major means of connection within the home. Included are specifications for Powerline (PL), Coax cable (CX), Twisted Pair (TP), Infrared (IR) and Radio Frequency (RF). The CEGate specifications follow the CEBus standard for the (PL) interface as described in the EIA document number EIA-600.31. Look for information that Ademco will make available on the Internet. ADEMCO has a home page that is located at ademco.com on the world-wide web. Developers of software can utilize the information shown for the CAL Message Structure to provide end users with a powerful system that responds to changes in the alarm system status. It also provides location information on graphical displays based on the inquiry of the display information available through the CEGate interface.
