Why should
you have an alarm system in your home?
Here are a few of the reasons:
Crime Happens: Crime stories
abound in every part of American life. It doesn't matter whether you live in the
city or the suburbs, or even in the country, there is no way to escape crime without a
good alarm system.
According to the FBI, a burglary occurs every eleven
seconds in the U.S. In one recent year the FBI reported 14 million crime index
offenses across the nation. Over 2.7 of those crimes were burglaries, with most of
them being residential in nature.
In that same year approximately $3.6 billion worth
of possessions were stolen by burglars.
Children are Affected: Nationwide,
more than 5,000 children are victimized each and every day. According to a poll by
Newsweek and the Children's Defense Fund, one in six children between the ages of 10 and
17 have seen or know someone who has been shot.
Add to this the fear of younger children being
abducted from their neighborhoods, and you have some mighty good reasons to consider home
security.
Security Systems Work:
Statistics prove that a quality home security system significantly improves your chances
of avoiding loss or injury. In one Justice Department study*, out of 6000 homes that
were burglarized over a five-year period in Scarsdale, NY, not a single one of those homes
had a professionally-installed, monitored security system.
Star Resources, a Boston-based research and
consulting firm, reports that 90% of police officers surveyed nationwide believe alarms
deter burglary attempts.
Another recent study (Hawkins and Gaffney/Security
Industry Association) shows that home with security system are about three times less
likely to be burglarized than homes with such systems.
Taken together, these figures are very significant!
They indicate that that not only are alarm systems effective in the event that some
idiot burglar actually attempts to break in your house, they also indicate that just the
mere fact that you have a burglar alarm installed in your home has a significant deterrent
effect.
Burglar alarms not only inhibit a burglar's success, they
keep the bad guys from even attempting to get into your house!
So, the purpose of a home alarm system is simply
this: It will give you a well-grounded sense of security. It will make you
feel safer in and around your home. It will make you feel safer when you are away
from your home. Do you know what I mean here? It's like this: If you let
us install a quality ADEMCO Eagle alarm system in your home, you won't get that gnawing
sensation in your stomach the next time you are on vacation, and you think about your
home. You know what I mean.
Stated yet another way: Eagle Security is your
prescription for "Peace of Mind."
